Alright,
I see that you are not familiar with cruise industry. Starting salary is the the lowest possible level to start, meaning that you are working first time as 2nd engineer for the cruise line.
But if you have experience in rank, on the cruise ships, then numbers are different. FYI everyone has their own salary according to the experience. ;)
