For one of our clients we are looking for a First Electricians.
It’s for their new-built vessel, but also for their other vessels.
5 weeks on/off rotation and possible extension.
Reports to: Chief Electrician.
Liaises with: Engineers; Maritime Automation Engineer; Assistant Superintendent; Mates; Safety Officer; Storekeepers; R&M Subcontractor personnel.
Responsibilities:
Watch duties, maintenance-, repair and operational activities and tasks under his control are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner in accordance with the existing safety procedures, applicable legislation, guidelines, established sound working practices and Company's Policy.
Tasks:
- To execute and control the activities and tasks assigned to him;
- To supervise assisting personnel of the electrical section on watch on the J-lay system;
- To execute daily activities as watch keeping, operating of machinery and maintenance;
- To comply with the Company's procedures concerning dynamic positioning and J-lay operations;
- To perform maintenance on the electrical systems of machinery and associated equipment in the J-lay system;
- To assist during J-lay activities by operating electrical systems and equipment. providing lighting etc.;
- To assist subcontractors with troubleshooting and repairs on electrical system;
- To supervise new personnel of the electrical section, assistant electricians and trainees;
- To report on progress of activities under his control;
- To detect and report malfunctioning of systems, circuits and equipment;
- To ensure compliance with safety and applicable procedures as laid down by authorities and the Company;
- To ensure proper job hand-over;
- To perform Toolbox talks.
Requirements:
Ref. Procedure P.0701.005 ''Training & Qualification Requirements Offshore Personnel'';
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
DP maintenance training;
BOSIET;
Good knowledge of MS Office applications;
Fluent in English language verbally and in writing;
Minimum of 3 years experience in independent working.
