Whitsunday Outboard Centre is seeking a fully qualified and experienced Marine Mechanic for our Marine dealership.
We are located in Cannonvale in the beautiful Whitsundays.
The successful candidate will have had experience in maintenance and repair activities including working on Mercury sterndrive and outboard motors preferred (Yamaha/Suzuki/Etec outboards and Volvo/Yanmar diesels amongst others).
General marine fitting work will also be an advantage and experience with electronics and electrical systems will be highly considered.
Must be able to diagnose and fault find of both electrical and mechanical systems, and must also be familiar with boats/yachts up to 35 ft and be able to manage and dock in a safe manner
– Mercury Outboard and Mercruiser Certified preferred but not essential
– Manage jobs to be complete within time frames
– Mercury Marine parts and system knowledge
– Execute mechanical tasks on a wide variety of marine engines, vessels and trailers. This includes Mercruiser stern drives, all brands of outboard, inboard shaft drives (small diesels), trailer repairs, 12V electrics. electronics and winch systems.
– Complete fit-ups of new and used vessels
– Must have a current Open Drivers Licence, Boat and Personal Water Craft Licence
– Forklift licence preferred (but not essential)
