Safety Officer
Vessel: Accommodation Barge
Desired Expertise: Safety Officer
Experience: 1-2+ years
Salary: 300 Euro per day netto
Location: Denmark
Duration: 3 week's on 3 week's off
The Safety Officer is responsible for:
• Implement, develop and communicate Intership's Safety, Health and Environmental Policies and procedures and motivate staff in all aspects of policy implementation.
• Carry out inspections effectively and accurately record results Maintain the profile of Safety as a company goal and give safe behavior a high value through your actions and communications
• Effectively promote positive safety behaviors and attitudes
• Effectively report details of accidents, incidents and near misses
• Effectively investigate or contribute to investigations of workplace incidents or near misses
• Identify, prioritize and act upon potential or real hazards or any deviations from requirements which are discovered
• Actively seek and update information on developments in safety related areas and make available to relevant personnel
• Implement Safety Management Systems within personal responsibility and operational requirements
• Clearly and accurately record results of monitoring activities
• Maintain effective working relationships with external and internal inspection/audit teams and cooperate as required
• Facilitate access of inspection/audit teams to appropriate information
• Ensure that information and advice is effectively presented to relevant personnel on request and proactively
• Effectively communicate recommendations for improvement to relevant personnel
• Effectively provide information regarding potential hazards and trends
• Write clear and unambiguous reports with suitable recommendations forwarding them to the correct persons
• Provide training plan and support for Emergency Response personnel as required
• Ensure all training material is on board and accessible to candidates
• Inform new arrivals to the Accommodation Unit of Intership procedures, the latest guidelines and relevant COPs.
Skills & Experience
In addition to these functions the Safety Officer must also have:
• Qualifications to bachelor or graduate degree level in Safety
• Proven relevant experience in similar HSE positions
• Qualified to Minimum NEBOSH Certificate
• Excellent Communications Skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Extensive and detailed knowledge of HSE practices, standards and general legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Good experience in Safety Management Systems
• Highly experienced in the monitoring of all hazardous maintenance activities including hot work and confined space entry
