Qualifications and Trainings: The following valid certificates are a minimum requirement for this function:
- BOSIET + HUET
- Certificate of Competence for the vessel;
- Flag state certificate (STCW Reg. II/2);
- Flag state Seaman’s Book;
- Flag state Medical certificate;
- RADAR/ARPA certificate;
- GMDSS General Operator certificate (STCW A-IV/2);
- Basic training certificate( PST:A-VI/1-1, BFF:A-VI/1-2, EFA:A-VI/1-3, PSSR:A-VI/1-4);
- Proficiency In Survival Craft And Fast Rescue Boats Certificate(A-VI/2);
- Advanced Fire Fighting certificate(A-VI/3);
- Medical First Aid and Medical Care certificate (A-VI/4)
Competency & experience; - good command of the working language of the vessel, verbally and in writing;
- competent to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities as a Chief Officer;
- large-scale knowledge of the applicable codes, guidelines and standards;
- knowledge of the equipment and procedures he is responsible for;
- minimum experience of 1 year as Officer on a similar ship.
