Job Description
opportunity for a Senior Reservoir Engineer reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will be working simultaneously on several international projects to optimize the production/recovery from an existing oilfield implementing secondary recovery techniques and you will advice how to mature new finds into a field development. You will also support the exploration team to assess exploration prospects and our shale gas project in Poland and other European countries.
 
Objectives of the job
The main objectives of this job are to provide reservoir engineering advice and support for the fields, well tests and exploration wells the company is involved in. The incumbent must be able to manage several projects simultaneously whilst providing guidance in support of colleagues from different disciplines. He shall also possess a good working understanding of the requirements of reserves assessments in accordance with industry standards.
 
Main duties and responsibilities
•   Responsible for the reservoir engineering support and well (completion) planning for an operated onshore shallow oil field in Trinidad. Horizontal drilling, fraccing and water injection are planned to optimize production and recovery.
•   Provide advice and support to our local offices and projects (Colombia, Poland, Trinidad, UK), to optimize the development of non operated fields and new finds
•   Evaluate well test results
•   Involve in shale gas fraccing and production techniques and build reservoir management expertise in shale gas development
•   Liaise effectively with operating companies to assist them in realizing combined business objectives with respect to reservoir engineering aspects.
•   Develop links and liaise with contractors, consultants, and appropriate industry partners to introduce new technologies to Sorgenia.
•   Represent the company in Technical Committee Meetings when required.
•   Provide advice on reserves assessments and audits; maintain and keep Sorgenia reserve database.
Desired Skills & Experience
Education
internationally recognized university education, preferably in Petroleum Engineering (MSc)

Key skills
Expert or highly competent in one or more of the following skill areas:
•   Reservoir Management (production/recovery optimization, define reservoir surveillance programs, EOR field development, maintain relevant databases, etc.)
•   Well testing design, execution, analysis and reporting.
•   Field Reservoir Engineering (reservoir description, fluid dynamics, reservoir simulation (Eclipse), production forecasting, reserves estimation, improved/enhanced oil recovery etc.)
•   Shale gas reservoir engineering experience
•   Well Reservoir Engineering (CH logging, well testing, stimulation, artificial lift etc.)
•   Capable of multitasking, able to work under time pressure and stress
 
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
•   Experience in reservoir engineering in the E&P business or related jobs for more than 10 years
•   Good understanding of G&G, petrophysics and production/operations related issues.
•   Excellent communication skills
•   Fluent in English, spoken and written.
•   Spanish knowledge would be an advantage
