. We currently have a Catamaran on our passenger ferry in Orkney which has 4 Cummins engines (below 3000kw). We only have one Chief Engineer on the ship who gets some assitance from a Motorman. Our shift pattern is 4 weeks on 4 weeks off and the days are long starting at 7am and finishing at 8.30pm with an hour or so off in between sailings. We run 8 sailings a day so it is always very busy with freight and passengers. The rate of pay is ?201.32 per day so this would be approximately ?36,640.24 based on 26 weeks a year but you may have to pay British Wage Tax so beware of this now. We will pay for your travel to the UK but you will not be paid a wage for your travelling days.
